ONE SCHOOL. THREE LOCATIONS.

Odyssey Academy opened its doors 25 years ago as a free, open enrollment public school, providing a stellar public education with a private school feel - smaller classes, strategic emphasis on STEM and leadership, and much more! Most importantly, our learning environment feels like a family with a focus on relationships, high expectations, and a passion for learning. We now have over 1,500 students at three locations conveniently located in the South Houston/Galveston area.

Pre-K - 7th Grade

OA-Bay Area is our second Odyssey school located in El Lago. The Bay Area school opened its doors in 2015 and offers Pre-K through 7th grade. In 2024, OABA will be moving into an awesome, new facility on Hwy. 3!

Pre-K - 12th Grade

OA-Galveston is our flagship school, beginning in 1999 as a middle school, growing to PreK - 8th grade. In 2013, OAG expanded to 12th grade and celebrated their first high school graduating class in 2017!

Pre-K - 8th Grade

OA-Texas City has probably our most interesting start, opening its doors in 2020 during COVID-19. It was trial by fire! They began with Pre-K through 6th grade and now enroll students through 8th grade.

A competitive alternative to other public schools:

  • Our STEAM curriculum is dynamic and extensive, including many NASA connections and robotics, technology, and space competitions! This is a significant part of our overall curriculum.

  • Our school week is a Mon-Thur 4-day instructional week with a little longer school day to increase student and teacher growth. This will increase student growth, increase attendance, deepen learning with extended instructional time, increase teacher planning time, and recruit and retain the best teachers for our wonderful students!

  • We offer College Preparatory with Collegiate High School and Dual Credit with our partnership with College of the Mainland and Galveston College.

  • Only 10% of the 4,500+ schools in the Stephen R. Covey Leader in Me program achieves Lighthouse Status. Both Bay Area and Galveston schools are Leader in Me Lighthouse Schools, and we are planning for our Texas City school to also become a Lighthouse School once they qualify to apply (they’re too young!). Needless to say, we value leadership development!
